Summer Time Note Cards

Needless to say this has been a very productive weekend for me! I spent several hours at my craft desk yesterday...something that I have not done in months and boy did I have a great time sitting there! Summer time is something that I cherish very much since I am a teacher...it gives me a lot of time to do things that I love especially making cards...Below is what I worked on yesterday...
A few weeks ago I went to the Scrapbook Expo and I felt like a kid in a candy store when it came to paper! There were so many different companies that I had a hard time deciding what to get. I ended up leaving with a lot of paper that day and happy with the choices that I made! This note card set I ended up using Echo Park's Homegrown and what I fun set of papers...I love colors and the theme of this paper kit...The neat thing about this set is that each card is a sticker from the set...so no stamp was involved...a first for me!
I choose 3x3 cards that I could put into a treat bag...I have been on a treat bag kick recently...I just love how it turns out each time...For the base of the cards I used Stampin' UP! Whisper White and Crumb Cake. The tag on the front of the card is from Reverse Confetti...All of the ribbon I used is also from Stampin' Up! I especially love the ribbon on the tag...it's SU! Striped Cotton Ribbon in Blackberry Bliss...one of my favorite colors these days..I tied it off with their Linen Thread...
I recently became a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator (been using their products for almost 8 years and decided to try my hand at it) and if you are interested in any of their products below please check out my SU! website...Shop Stampin' Up!

Pinspired Clean and Simple ~ Thanks Tag

A few weeks ago I saw a really fun tag of Echo Park's FB page which then I immediately pinned onto Pinterest...fortunately the paper that they used I was able to find at this year's Scrapbook Expo and here is my take of it...
I am really glad that I bought this paper set Echo Park Homegrown...the paper is fun and colorful and I love the stickers that came with it...I usually don't buy the kits but I couldn't resist when I saw it...I already have other ideas in my mind for making cute 3x3 cards but that will be for another post!
The dies that I used are from Mama Elephant...Bold Banner and Splendid...I used Stampin' Up! White Tea Lace Paper Doilie (cut in half) and their Crumble Cake card stock...I added a bit of yellow chevron ribbon at the top (from Paper Issues) and tied it off with SU! Linen Thread...
I liked how it turned out...

End of the Year Thank You Note...

Well my little one has one more week of kindergarten and then he will officially be a first grader..where has the time gone? Through out the school year I have been very happy with his teacher and her assistant...and I thought I needed to give them something special to show our appreciation...I decided to make them little note cards that would perfectly fit a gift card from one of our local day spas for a pedicure...as a teacher myself being on your feet all day long one definitely deserves a pedicure!
Here is what I ended up making them

This weekend the Scrapbook Expo was in my area and I was fortunate to be able to go both days...Needless to say I was a kid in a candy store! I bought quite a bit of fun paper and I used two different ones today...They are both from Bella Blvd...The line is Star Student...the top one I used Brainiac and the bottom is Schoolyard...I used my We R Memory Keepers envelope punch board for the envelopes but decided to try something different...I cut the top off...which I love this idea for a cute little notecard...I cut my paper 4x4...the envelope is 7 1/2 x 7 1/2...For the "thank you"  I used Papertrey Ink's Think Big Favorites #15 Stamp Set and "for you" I used their Fillable Frames #5 Stamp Set ...I love how it mixes together the cursive and manuscript letters...The ink isSU! Pacific Point and Memento's Tuxedo Black... I used SU! new Banner Triple punch for the bigger flag die and the little one is Lil' Inkers Sentiment tag die...I pulled some ribbon from my stash...SU! Hello Honey and a random green I have had for a long time...I used my SU! stapler to attached the ribbon to the card...I like how they turned out and I hope that his teachers like them too...especially their gift cards for a much needed and well deserved pedicure!

Hostess with the Mostess...

With summer around the corner we often go to several barbecues or parties and I always grab a bottle of wine to give to the hostess. With that in mind I started making several wine tags including this one but this time I took it up a notch and added a cute little note card to go with it...

I don't know about you but when I go through my paper stash and when I see a certain pattern or color a stamp or stamp kit jumps out at me immediately. When I pulled out my Echo Park Made from Scratch paper this stamp set from Jaded Blossom For the Hostess came to mind. I love this stamp set and it works perfectly for a wine tag and little thank you card...
The wine tag is also from Jaded Blossom...I pulled out my We R Memory Keepers envelope punch board...I made the envelope 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 to make sure the flag dies didn't get smooshed. The flag dies and circle punches (2 1/2 and 2) are from Stampin Up! For the little 3x3 card I pulled from my stash of cards in a drawer... I believe it is Studio G...The ink is Stampin Up! I used Old Olive..one of my favorite colors from them...The ribbon is also SU! ...the color is Lost Lagoon...And of course a clothes pin...I have been using these a lot recently...it's from Recollections...The last little tidbit I added was the staple I ...that is also from Stampin' Up!

OSAT Blog Hop ~ Father's Day

http://osatbloghoppers.blogspot.com/

Hi there and welcome to this month's OSAT Blog Hop! This month's theme is Father's Day. I have to admit that I struggled since I have not made many cards with a male theme. I searched on Pinterest for ideas and SU! Calling All Heros popped up and I thought what a great kit for this theme. After looking at several different ideas
here is what I came up with...

For the white cardstock I used SU! Whisper White (except for the envelope ~ which is Studio G). For the tag I used Reverse Confetti Tag Me which I love to us these days. I used SU! Real Red, Pacific Point, and Summer Sun. When choosing colors they stood out to me as super hero colors. I "fussy cut" the word bubbles and the stars...still need to work on that! For the ribbon I used Hello Honey and red clothes pin from my stash. I also grabbed a kraft gift bag from my stash too...wanted to see how all of it tied together and I am happy how it all turned out!
Thanks for stopping by and please leave a comment...I love to read them!

Pinspired Clean and Simple ~ Best Day Ever

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by and checking out my first Pinspired Clean and Simple. This week I made gift tags with envelopes. I was doing a search for tag ideas and I found this great idea using Stampin' Up! Best Day Ever from their Sale-A-Bration Catalogue. I love this kit and love the idea of making a tag with an envelope! I thought what a fun twist on a gift tag and the endless occasions you could use with it! Below is what I came up with...

Here is what I used to make these fun envelopes...
I used my We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board
I love this thing! From my paper stash I grabbed some fun paper and cut each of them 5x5...Then using my punch board I scored at 2", 3", 2" and finally another 3" then I used the reverse punch on each corner. Once you have done that then get some good sticky tape and glue up your envelopes!
I decided not to crease the top of the envelope. I like it opened especially when I added the ribbon and clothes pin to the tag. To add a little bit of pizzaz to the envelopes I used my SU! flag dies...the two smallest ones of the group...I like how that turned out.

To make the tag I used my SU! Scalloped Top Tag Punch...which I love! I usually cut my paper just a little bit before the 2" mark...if I don't my paper gets stuck and gets messed up when I pull it out. I decided to make the length of the tag at 3 1/2".
Here is what the tag looks like
I used the two sentiments from Best Day Ever for the four tags. I also added one of the little hearts to each of the tags. I have been on a ribbon and clothes pin kick recently and thought what a fun way to get the tag out of the envelope...For this tag I used SU! Natural Chevron Ribbon. The other tags I used my ribbon that I got from Paper Issues...love that website! You should check it out when you have a minute. For the ink I used SU! Cherry Cobbler, Night of Navy, Pear Pizzazz, and Chocolate Chip. I love when my non SU! paper goes well with their ink!
Here is what it looks like with the tags inside the envelopes...

All in all I love how these gift tags and envies turned out. I am certainly glad that I got "pinspired" to make these tags. As I was making these I was thinking they would be perfect for birthdays, Christmas, baby showers, thank you cards...the list is endless and so are all of my SU! sentiment stamps! Will be making more of these in the future...
Well that's it for this week...Thanks for stopping by and checking my CAS creations...
Please leave a comment and let me know what you think!

CYCI#72 A Sketch Challenge ~ Love Life

Hi there...thanks for stopping by to check out my card for this week's CYCI#72 Sketch Challenge...
I pulled out on of my newest Stampin' Up! sets A Happy Thing from the Sale-A-Bration catalouge.
I love this little birdie...he seems to be my favorite these days...I used SU! Whisper White for the base of the card...I have always loved rounding out the corner of my cards but these days I have been just punching out two...I like the way it looks...The patterned paper that I chose is by Crate Paper ~ Poolside ~ Summer Time...I love the colors which I felt would work perfectly with SU! Lost Lagoon ink and it did...I used SU! oval die cuts for the bird and Lil' Inkers designs Stitched Flag Sentiment die (I recently got it and love the stitch...I think it gives a little extra something) For the sentiment I used SU! Flag die cut and stamped the sentiment in Hello Honey...another new favorite color for me...I added a little bit of yellow chevron ribbon I ordered from Paper Issues and used SU! Linen Thread to tie the ribbon...I really like how this card came together...my original thought was completely different from what I ended up with and I am quite happy with it!
Thanks for stopping by and seeing my CAS card

Growing in Unity Blog Hop {Bunches of Love} Sentiment Kit

Hi there...welcome to this month's Growing in Unity Blog Hop...I am super excited to be part of it and share my CAS creations with you. The kit that I am using in Bunches of {love} sentiment kit from February 2014. I really love this kit because it can be used for so many different ocassions. I have recently purchased Quickutz Treat Bag die and love making 3x3 cards to put inside as a cute gift bag for friends and family. For the bag and the larger circle punch I used American Crafts Grey Floral Shimelle True Stories paper. The 3x3 cards I used Stampin' Up! White Whisper and their ink to punch the sentiments. I used Stampin' Up! Real Red, Night of Navy, Sahara Sand, and, Hello Honey . I also used their 2 1/2 and 2 inch circle punches. For the flag banner I used Lil' Inkers Stitched Sentimental Flag Die. I had a lot of fun making this project. Make sure to leave a comment on each blog  for a chance to win a stamp kit. Two lucky winners will win Frankly Said Sentiment Kit. Winners will posted June 3rd on the GIU blog post.
Thanks for Stopping By

It's 5 O'Clock...

Wanted to share some wine tags that I have made recently...The wine tag die that I used is from Jaded Blossom...This is definitely the tip of the iceberg with this die! This base of each wine tag is Stampin' Up! Crumb Cake...even though I still tell my demo I refused to call it that...it will always be "Kraft" to me!
The stamp I used here is from Whipper Snappers design...Paper is by Bella Blvd...Sunday Brunch

I used Paper Smooches Alpha Dots for this tag...the paper is from October Afternoon...have had it for years...you never know when you will need it! I got this idea from Pinterest...

This stamp is from Unity Stamps...love their stamps!

This stamp is by Deadbeat Stamps...I love their stamps! Every year when I visit my parents in Albuquerque I make my pilgrimage to Guadalupe's Fun Stamps in Santa Fe...they have the best stamps around

This last one I used my favorite Stampin' Up! sentiment kits...Good Greetings...the die cut if from Lil' Inkers...I love the fact you could stick a gift card in it! It is their Folding Tag Die Original...
